Paul Sylvestre, Ph.D., is a former police officer of 22 years with the Pawtucket Police Department in Rhode Island. He worked as a patrol officer for 3 years before becoming a detective and being assigned to the narcotics unit where he did work undercover.  Sylvestre’s research interest is in cumulative stress in policing and its impact on the individual officer in his/her professional and personal life as well as the department and public.
